What is PrivateGPT?

PrivateGPT is a document intelligence system that lets you have natural conversations with your files. At its core, PrivateGPT uses a technique called Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG). Your documents are split into chunks, converted into mathematical representations (embeddings), and stored in a local vector database (Chroma). When you ask a question, the system finds the most relevant passages and feeds them to the LLM to generate an accurate, grounded answer.
